Will it fit my door?
It is designed for 1 3/8-inch (35 mm) interior doors with a door-to-frame gap of at least 0.05 inches (1.2 mm). The latch also needs compatible trim under 1/2 inch thick and under 1 1/2 inches deep. Measure first. Exterior and garage doors are not compatible.
Can an adult open it from both sides?
Yes. Press the latch on one side, or use the release slider on the other. Check both release methods after installation, and keep the lock reachable by the adults who need access.
Do I need tools or adhesive?
No. The bracket slides over the door edge. Check the door and lock regularly for wear, and stop using a worn or damaged lock.
Can I leave it installed but turn it off?
Yes. The disable switch holds the latch retracted so the door can operate normally. Follow the supplied instructions to reactivate it.
Does it replace other childproofing?
No. It is a convenience device for managing access to rooms, not a primary safety device or a substitute for adult supervision. Secure hazards separately. Do not rely on it for stairs, pools, exterior doors or emergency exits. Children can grow, climb and learn, so reassess placement and use regularly.
